Thank you to The Dressing Room Project for this month’s Sisters in Beauty Rebellion Award!

Read more about out this organization’s amazing mission at: http://www.thedressingroomproject.org/index.html

I’ll be taking a wellness break from this project until the spring, thus the deadline for submissions has been extended! Please submit your written or visual work that explores making peace with the body to me by May 2008!

The Love Your Body show came down on November 4th, BUT the journey continues!!

I’m compiling a book (Making Peace with the Body) of the images, written work, interviews, feedback, etc from the Love Your Body show. I plan to self-publish the book initially and see where it goes from there!

Love Your Body artists and authors who’d like to have their work included in the book, need to complete a consent form (see “forms” link or contact me). I hope you’ll be willing to share your wonderful work with a larger audience!

If you have written or visual work that explores making peace with body that you’d like to have included in the book—let me know; I’d love to include your wisdom/experience/perspective!

I think it is important to note that any proceeds from Making Peace with the Body will be donated to charity. Right now I’m thinking of The Emerging Women Projects(check out their website: http://www.thedressingroomproject.org). I’m also quite open to suggestions if you know of other organizations that celebrate all kinds of bodies.

Contact Sara at sayates2@gmail.com if you have suggestions, comments, questions, or submissions. I’d love to hear from you!

Sara, I came across your name and work while searching for
eating disorder recovery activists and am very impressed by all that youhave done.

I have been battling an Ed for 15 years and am also a victim of sexual abuse, so I can deeply relate to these issues and am very supportive of what you are doing.

Thanks you so much. Please keep me posted.

    Sincerely,
    Melissa
